All pilots, including junior members, must have a valid MAAC (Model Aeronautics Association of Canada) membership for insurance coverage purposes. Once you have obtained your MAAC membership number (easy online process) you may proceed with becoming a Prince George Aeromodelers club member. While under the direct supervision of their instructor’s buddy box system, students are not required to have either a MAAC or PGAM membership. Once the student successfully completes their solo test, both memberships are required. MAAC and PGAM memberships are annual terms with no long term commitment. Should you choose not to stay with the hobby, no fees are due.
Students (Getting Started Guide)
MAAC and PGAM club memberships are not required to begin flying lessons. All flight lessons and pre-flight safety checks are free of charge. Instructor or club owned aircraft and equipment is generally used for training students, at no cost. Students aircraft and equipment may also be utilized.
Member Fee Schedule
Junior Member: Free! (Kids have to retrieve the adults planes when they crash though 😀 )
Adult Member (18+): $50 per year
Senior Member (65+): $25 per year
Your PGAM membership fee contributes directly towards maintaining the airfields (workbenches, picnic tables, storage shed, lawn care, fencing, etc) and promotion of the club. Financial and labour donations are very much appreciated.
